Overview

Provides day-to-day management of enterprise-wide Memorial Health creative services functions, including the creation and deployment of graphic designs (print, digital outdoor, signage) and videography/photography materials. Works collaboratively with team members in internal/external communications and digital experience to mobilize enterprise-wide strategic messaging in support of the organization’s business goals and consistent with Memorial Health System standards of excellence. Focuses efforts high-quality creative content and developing and sharing a cohesive Memorial Health voice across the enterprise. Leads a team of graphic designers, photographers/videographers and visitor experience designers using best practices for high-performing Marketing & Communications teams that embody the Memorial Health System values of Safety, Integrity, Quality and Stewardship, in support of our mission, vision and goals.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, marketing, communications or related field required.

 

Experience:

  • Corporate communications experience, preferably in hospital or health systems, preferred.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills. Skill in navigating complex organizational dynamics and competing priorities. Ability to balance long-term projects with immediate needs.

Responsibilities

Administrative & Operational Support

  1. Supports the Director of Marketing & Brand in enterprise-wide communications functions.
  2. Manages the day-to-day work and leads a team of graphic designers, photographers/videographers, visitor experience designers in the creation of all creative communications materials. Oversees the professional development track of supervised staff.
  3. Ensures that communications materials align with organizational strategic priorities. Guides the creation of creative materials that drive employee awareness, alignment and adoption of organizational initiatives and compel them to take action where needed.
  4. In collaboration with the Director of Marketing & Brand, the Vice President of Marketing & Communication and others, contributes to developing an enterprise-wide marketing and communications plan with initiatives that are data-informed, results driven and aligned with standards of excellence.
  5. As a working manager, assists team members with creating, editing and deploying creative materials when needed.
  6. Collaborates with engaged external agencies to ensure creative materials are brand-centric and reflect the communities in which they are deployed.
  7. Works closely with the MarComm Digital Experience team to align on framework, policy, process and deployment of creative materials. Measures the effectiveness of communications standards, processes, improvements and best practices and adjusts as needed, cross collaboratively with other department leaders and team members.
  8. Evaluates trends and best practices in creative design innovations to continually advance the work and improve the experience provided.
  9. Builds cohesive alignment among and works collaboratively with MarComm teams on clear priorities, shared goals and best practices. Holds consistent meetings and touchpoints with department managers, team members and business partners to align on workflows, deadlines and to keep work flowing smoothing among the department leads.
  10. Develops and maintains productive relationships with leaders across the enterprise in support of marketing Business Partners. Ensures materials meet regulatory and legal requirements.
  11. Provides strategic counsel to services lines and Business Parters as the team anticipates internal communications needs and proactively recommends approaches, tools, plans and messaging solutions.
  12. Stewards the Memorial Health System brand, ensuring consistent, high-quality brand expression across all channels and platforms. Leverages automated systems and processes when possible.
  13. Strengthens brand awareness, trust, and preference across internal audiences.
  14. Adopts and uses department and organizational AI tools, leveraging them to continually advance the work and improve experience.
  15. Supports documentation of processes, team standards and cross-functional workflows.
  16. Maintains up-to-date records of project status, timelines, and deliverables using adopted team project tracking tools. Contributes to a shared weekly report provided by the Director Internal and External Communications to the VP of Marketing & Communications for review and oversight of internal communications functions and progress.
  17. Develops annual goals consistent with Memorial Health System’s Strategic Plan and Goals, and monitors the status of goal achievement using 30-day action plans.
  18. Maintains professional affiliations as appropriate. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in continuing education, in-service meetings/seminars and workshops.
  19. Performs other related work as required or requested.
