The Senior Director, Medical Group provides strategic and administrative leadership for employed Advanced Practice Providers. Functions in a dyad with the Medical Group CMO to promote employed physician alignment, engagement, clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
This role is responsible for strategic execution of physician and APP clinical standards, policies, role definitions and scope of practice structures. Leads execution of physician and APP recruitment, onboarding, quality incentive initiatives, physician and APP performance scorecard management, employment contracts and compensation models.
Partners with executive leadership on enterprise-wide strategic growth initiatives of the medical group through the Clinical Enterprise Strategy Committee (CESC). Works closely with clinic and hospital operations to ensure physician and APP coverage and alignment with operational goals and priorities.

5. Quality and Compliance. Partner with clinical leadership on quality metrics, outcomes and patient-centered care. Support development and implementation of clinical policies and protocols.
6. Physician and Leadership Engagement. Participates in high functional dyad with Medical Group CMO. Builds strong relationships among physicians and APPs to support culture, engagement and alignment. Implements physician and APP performance scorecard management, onboarding and development. Serves as a key liaison between physicians/APPs and operational leaders and executive leadership. Direct leader to employed physicians and APPs.
7. Financial Management. Participates in physician and APP revenue cycle performance, expense management, financial optimization and revenue growth opportunities. Partners with revenue cycle, coding, compliance and other areas to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
8. Coaches and develop downline leadership to their fullest potential, providing educational and developmental opportunities as needed. Equips direct reports to fully utilize the time, talent, technology, and resources available to them to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Annually evaluates the performance of direct reports.
9. Develops and enhances strategic partnerships with various external individuals and groups. Develop and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to, SIU Medicine and Springfield Clinic.
10. Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring all operations, programs and physical properties; initiates changes when required.
11. Participate in community outreach and networking programs. Participates in local civic organizations and community services, including roles on community, state, and/or national boards of directions whose purpose may be in concert with, or benefit to, MH.
