  • Overview

    Responsible for the data collection, analysis, and reporting from multiple information systems agency wide for quality improvement activities.  Responsible for the interpretation of historical, current, and projected data to identify trends and areas for improvement.  Responsible for the development and maintenance of metrics and measurements for Memorial Behavioral Health service lines.  Responsible for regular comprehensive reports, including the maintenance of the overall behavioral health Quality Improvement System, which will include data visualization and analysis.  Responsible for ensuring data integrity and quality through coordination with behavioral health leaders. 



    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related discipline required.



    • Must possess valid Illinois drivers’ license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy.
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is expected within 2 years of job placement.


    • Two or more years of experience with relevant computer systems and software required.
    • Experience with process improvement and performance management systems and structures.

    Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Strong analytical and statistical expertise. Knowledge of database querying and query design.  Demonstrated ability to analyze, aggregate and present data to end users.
    • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma quality improvement methodology strongly preferred.
    • Ability to communicate findings effectively to all levels of colleagues.
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Ability to work effectively as part of a team. 


    1. Enhance system capabilities to extract data from internal MBH electronic health records and external sources such as MHS and partner electronic health records and patient registries.
    2. Make recommendations regarding input of data in order to improve search ability and storability.
    3. Make recommendations regarding opportunities to standardize data management across MHS ambulatory sites.
    4. Coordinate and/or supervise components of the Quality Improvement System and processes, making recommendations for and assisting with implementation of system improvements. 
    5. Compile, analyze, and present data for all components of the Quality Improvement System by specified deadlines.
    6. Assist the Manager, Quality & Grants, with the preparation of the Quality Improvement Plan.
    7. Create and maintain service line scorecards. Identify and understand data sources. Provide analysis.  Collate and re-format as needed to promote understanding among end-users.  Present to clinical and managerial staff as needed.
    8. Assist with data collection and reporting, as requested.
    9. Provide training to staff related to QIS components (e.g., record review), as requested.
    10. Assist with survey preparation process and participate in accreditation and other surveys, as requested.
    11. Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of data systems to support required reporting to funders, program evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
    12. Enhance system capabilities to extract data from internal MBH electronic health records and external sources such as MHS and partner electronic health records and patient registries.
    13. In conjunction with the Manager, Quality and Grants, work closely with MHS Information Services staff, MBH administration and MBH staff to ensure common goals and efficient use of resources. Ensure system compatibility when accessing external data sources for MBH and MHS use.
    14. Participate on appropriate quality improvement and/or lean six sigma teams.
    15. Assist with data collection to ensure timely collection of data, quality of data, and efficient of data collection/input. 
    16. Ensure patient confidentiality and information security according to current laws and HIPAA guidelines.
    17. Performs other related work as required or requested.
