Provides plumbing maintenance to all areas of Memorial Health System as assigned. Insures that work is completed per established policies/procedures, work order specifications and appropriate codes.  Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values.

1. Establishes work priorities ensuring efficient organization and coordination of activities with installing, and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems per codes and specifications.

2. Installs new plumbing pipe for water, steam, condensate lines, sewer, air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrous oxide, drains, and vents and for sterilizers and other sterilizing equipment.

3. Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.

4. Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.

6. Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, dishwashers and water softeners

7. Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes and opening clogged drains.

8. Performs and documents preventative maintenance.

9. Notifies department if asbestos exists in work area.

10. Interacts with patients and hospital personnel in a courteous, helpful and cooperative manner.

11. Maintains appropriate dress and appearance, projecting a positive image of the Medical Center.

12. Follows all safety procedures/policies in completing work assignments.

13. Assists with completing division goals.

14. Coordinates assigned work to meet the needs of customers, patients and visitors.

15. Develops work practices that utilizes time and material efficiently.

16. Performs other related work as required or requested.
