  • Overview

    Ultrasound Technologists perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, interventional ultrasound, and sonographic vascular exams on inpatients and outpatients of all ages. They monitor the condition and levels of equipment and supplies. Ultrasound Technologists work side-by-side with specialized radiologists who are on-site at all times.


    Ultrasound Technologists have a lot of variety in their days. They may be performing procedures in the busy Emergency Department and outpatient area, the Comprehensive Stroke Center, IMC, and ICU. Because of this diversity, Ultrasound Technologists perform a variety of procedures, such as Ultrasound-Guided Needle Placements, and utilize a variety of equipment, such as the Ultrasound Transcranial Doppler.





    • Graduate of a two-year, AMA-recognized health training program or two years of college preferred



    • RDMS Credential, or must be RDMS eligible and obtain RDMS within 24 months of job acceptance
    • Maintain CPR Certification



    • Completion of approved ultrasound technology program or at least 12 months of equivalent clinical ultrasound experience required
