Overview

Works directly with leaders and colleagues of assigned business units to provide consultation on all colleague

relations issues. Serves as an advanced-level strategic business partner providing expertise and guidance on all

aspects of Human Resources at the level of an internal consultant and as a liaison between the affiliate(s) and

Human Resources CoE.

 

Initiates investigations and provides guidance regarding issues such as: working conditions, disciplinary actions,

harassment, and colleague complaints in collaboration with leadership/colleague as needed. Provides guidance

and recommendations for problem resolution, analysis of data obtained, and timely report preparation.

Participates in the development, analysis, modification, and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Serves as a key stakeholder in developing and reassessing HR goals, objectives, and systems.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree required.  Areas of  human resources, business, or related field preferred.

 

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience required.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and basic business acumen (including planning) skills.

Responsibilities

  1. Works in partnership with organizational business units to communicate and support implementation of human resources strategic plan, objectives, programs, practices, key initiatives, policies and procedures that support organizational values and objectives.
  2. In conjunction with HR Manager, works in partnership with business units and MHS HR to communicate and support HR programs that support departmental and organizational goals, foster employee engagement, and drives results.
  3. Serve as contact for all HR related initiatives and operational HR inquiries.
  4. Ensures compliance with all federal regulations governing HR policies and procedures. Performs HR audit functions as requested or needed. Assists employees with routine human resource/personnel-related questions. Maintains confidentiality as appropriate in all human resource activities.

  1. Assist HR Manager in development, implementation and supporting special events and/or projects such as service awards, holiday celebrations and other employee engagement programs.
  2. Provides consulting to supervisory and non-supervisory employees in the area of conflict resolution, policy/procedures, grievance resolution, and disciplinary action to minimize workforce disruptions. Consults with HR Manager as needed.
  3. Assist HR Manager with administering leave of absence (E.g. FMLA, Worker’s Comp., Personal, etc.), short-term disability, long-term disability through proper documentation and tracking requirements for HR and payroll requirements.
  4. Maintains and updates employee data in the HRIS solution including, but not limited to, employee demographics, salary information, tax exemptions, direct deposit, deductions, etc.
  5. Responsible for maintaining records area in an efficient and organized manner to ensure proper document processing.
  6. Responds to time sensitive requests from outside agencies on verification of employment, unemployment compensation claims and others as necessary along with workforce requests from business unit leaders.
  7. Responsible for coordination and completion of new hire activities as part of the screening process and organizational requirements (E.g. Applications, interviews, new hire meeting, background checks, credentialing, Onboarding, and NTO).
  8. Assists with process efficiency and candidate experience enhancement in the recruitment function; which includes assistance in data and position compiling for organizational position control process.
  9. Assist with the day-to-day administration of all employee benefit programs for organization in a customer service focused demeanor, including communication of enrollment details, benefit changes, processing of invoices and other benefit related matters. Stays current with changes in benefits related legislation (HIPAA, COBRA, and Affordable Care Act (ACA)).
  10. Performs regular benefit reconciliations related to benefit carrier billings and employee records to ensure adequate eligibility and payment information and compliance with contract provisions. Researches and resolves benefit and billing questions from employees, vendors, providers and payroll.
  11. Monitors performance appraisal program for policy and completion compliance.
  12. Assist in development and implementation of monitoring, protocols and procedures for compliance constant readiness (E.g. JCAHO)
  13. Complete all mandatory education requirements by specified deadlines.
  14. Performs other related work as required or requested.
