Overview

Under supervision of the registered radiologic technologist, bone densitometry (DEXA). Ensure patient comfort and safety during the imaging experience to include comprehensive electronic medical record management.

Performs all duties in accordance with established standards, polices, procedures, and guidelines. Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision, and values.

 

Schedule

Full Time, Day Shift

8:30am-5:00pm

Rotating Weekends 

Qualifications

Education:

High School education required.

Annual Credentialing: Completes annual mandatory education and competency validation requirements for bone densitometry (DEXA).

 

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

A Current BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire. Maintain the policy

 

Experience:

Recent clinical experience preferred.

 

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrates competence to perform tasks/care elements identified in the job description.

Able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient; coordination skill sufficient to perform patient care and technical skills.

Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood and bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases, and/or potentially hazardous materials.

 

 

Responsibilities

  1. Performs Bone Densitometry (DEXA) scans on patients per department protocol under the supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist.
  2. Perform clerical duties necessary for patient registration into the Radiology information System.

 

  1. Transport patients to and from the imaging procedure room.

 

  1. Provide patient assistance during the imaging exam process.

 

  1. Utilize proper infection control practice.
