Overview

Provides assistance relative to the administration of contracts and business agreements between Memorial Health System affiliates and outside parties.  Responsible for the fiscal oversight, data tracking, and operational support of professional services payments and physician contract processes. Gathers insight into business operations and explores the existing business environment to identify gaps that impede reaching the desired results.    Provides support and assistance to the system leadership team thru special projects, analysis, and research in support of business development and regulatory priorities of the Health System.  Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Quality, Integrity and Stewardship that support our mission, vision and values.

Qualifications

Education:

 

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited program with coursework in health services management, project management, leadership, marketing, finance, accounting, information systems, or business strategy required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, three years’ related experience will be considered

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 relevant experience occurring in business domain or industry required
  • Broad experience with personal computer systems; experience with Microsoft Office and other software applications required.
  • Familiarity with healthcare provider contracts or physician compensation models or experience working with financial systems or contract workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensures fulfillment of mission and progress towards vision. Exhibits behaviors consistent with MHS values, and ensures strategic plan is cascaded throughout the organization to achieve desired business outcomes.

 

  1. Assists in contract administration process with organizational leaders to ensure timely execution of contracts and submission of related documentation.

 

  1. Coordinates and provides direction for contract development with Memorial Health System (“MHS”) legal counsel, the MHS contract management office, and business development team.

 

  1. Works with MHS legal, contract management, business development team, and outside parties to ensure timely processing of physician and contract payments in accordance with MHS finance policies and governing contract documents.

 

  1. Tracks budget allocations, variances, and reporting tied to physician or vendor contracts and assists with cross health system reporting and annual budgeting of professional services and physician fees.

 

  1. Resolves conflicts and facilitates contract reviews through discussions and correspondence with legal counsel, departments, and staff.

 

  1. Maintains working knowledge of computer systems for MHS affiliates necessary for job duties.

 

  1. Supports legal counsel and organizational leaders to validate that all contracts are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, organizational policies, and sound business practices.

 

  1. Assists in researching and evaluating operational needs for new programs, services, and technology, including staffing and capital requirements.

 

  1. Develops economic valuations using standard acceptable methodologies to evaluate new business opportunities.

 

  1. Retrieves data required to make decisions on new business opportunities, analyzes current business terms, or performs fair-market-value evaluations (both internal and external).

 

  1. Assists operations staff to convert business analysis into implementation plans in a variety of different clinical settings.

 

  1. Provides assistance as required to operations staff during and after implementation of new programs and services.

 

  1. Participates on various organizational committees and task forces as assigned.

 

  1. Attends meetings of professional, civic, and service organizations as a representative of Memorial Health System as assigned.

 

  1. Performs other related work as required or requested.
