Responsible for coordination of the components of the Cath Lab monitoring system. Responsible for educating staff on upgrades and process changes within the system. In addition, based on their experience and leadership qualities, the employee will fulfill all duty sections outlined under principle responsibilities. Education:
• Graduate of approved School of Radiology or equivalent training (if hired before September, 1990).
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
• Maintain an Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety license and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certificate. Any colleagues hired prior to July 1, 2002, ARRT is preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
Experience:
• Seven years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience required.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Has successfully completed a Basic EKG class within one year of hire.
• Radiation Safety Classes for all technologists working in the Cath Lab will be required.
• Demonstrates consistent proficiency in use and maintenance of current Cath Lab monitoring system.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Represents the administrative and department policies in a positive, professional manner.

9. Serves as the information system technical resource for the Cardiac Cath Lab.
10. In conjunction with the Information Services department, interpret and/or investigate the potential impact on existing systems as new interfaces/upgrades, programs or systems are considered or introduced.
11. In conjunction with the Information Services department, contacts external service providers and company representatives to resolve issues regarding system integrity, responsiveness, errors or service.
12. In conjunction with the Information Services department, performs corrective and preventative maintenance on systems, including testing upgrades, verifying hardware availability and determining the accuracy of data received or sent.
13. In conjunction with the Information Services department, researches and evaluates external vendors and associated products/services to meet MHS needs for technological support for the Cardiac Cath Lab. Will be involved with selecting new vendors and developing request-for-proposals (RFPs).
14. In conjunction with the Information Services department, performs up front and back-end testing prior to system or application installation and integration to ensure the desired results are obtained.
15. In conjunction with the Information Services department, receives, prioritizes, and evaluates requests from users regarding system enhancement and support, particularly those that have unique configuration requirements or department-wide impact.
16. Ensures the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of data used in assigned systems and applies the appropriate fixes for imaging, labeling, and billing errors.
17. Designs and modifies user and physician training for assigned systems. Ensures the appropriate applicability, currency, and uniformity of training materials, modifying as appropriate. Establishes or deletes users as appropriate.
18. Conducts training and system orientation for lesser-experienced users and assists them in developing and managing project plans associated with their work. Assists in developing workflow, training, policies, procedures, and performance standards for systems and associated staff.
19. Develops policies and procedures related to use of systems, ensuring their ongoing maintenance, support and their continued upgrade and improvement.
20. Identifies quality improvement opportunities and uses appropriate QI tools/techniques to evaluate potential solutions.
21. Assists with necessary tasks to achieve and maintain accreditation status in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
22. Can collect appropriate past patient information for the physician to review (old cine films, cath records, etc.).
23. Performs other related duties as assigned.
