Overview

The Workday Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration, security, and optimization of our Workday HCM platform. This role ensures system integrity, manages security roles, develops reporting solutions, and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance business processes. As the primary Workday expert, this role will drive system efficiency, compliance, and strategic improvements to support organizational goals.  

 

**This is a remote role, but you must reside in one of these 8 states Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin**

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Administration, HR, or related field.

 

Licensure/Certification/Registry: 

  • Required: Workday Human Capital Management (HMC) Certification 
  • Desired: Workday Pro Certifications, such as Payroll, Reporting and Analytics, Security, and Platform Administrators 

 

Experience: 

  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday experience in system administration, security, and/or reporting. 
  • Strong understanding of Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, Security, Reporting, and Integrations. 
  • Experience with Workday Security framework and role-based access controls. 
  • Proficiency in Workday Report Writer and calculated fields. 
  • Management of Workday support semi-annual releases. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.

  1. System Administration & Configuration: 
  • Maintain and enhance Workday tenant configurations, including business processes, condition rules, notifications, and tenant-wide settings. 
  • Coordinate and manage system updates, patches, and Workday releases; conduct regression testing and impact analysis. 
  • Understand the Workday roadmap and upcoming product releases, reviewing release notes, assessing new features, understanding the impacts on business processes and basic changes in functionality. 
  • Evaluate and implement configuration changes to improve system efficiency and user experience. 
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into functional solutions, and support ongoing system optimization. 
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for streamlining workflows or automating processes. 
  • Collaborate with Workday support and vendors as needed to troubleshoot tenant-specific issues or escalate defects. 
  1. Security & Compliance: 
  • Administer Workday security configuration including role assignments, user-based permissions, domain security policies, and business process security. 
  • Review and maintain security groups, segregation of duties, and supervisory organization structures to support organizational changes. 
  • Conduct periodic audits of user access, security roles, and workflow approvals to ensure alignment with internal policies and compliance standards. 
  • Monitor and investigate potential security issues or breaches; coordinate with compliance and IT security teams to apply best practices. 
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, access logs, and security configuration details as requested. 
  • Review Workday's semi-annual SOCII releases and ensure compliance. 
  1. Reporting & Analytics: 
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards using Workday’s reporting suite. 
  • Build and manage calculated fields to support reporting, eligibility rules, and business process logic. 
  • Provide reporting and analytics support to HR, Payroll, Finance, and compliance teams to drive data-informed decisions. 
  • Ensure data accuracy by validating report outputs, resolving discrepancies, and performing regular quality checks. 
  • Support the development and adoption of Prism Analytics for enhanced data modeling and visualization. 
  • Maintain a catalog of existing reports and support data governance efforts across the platform. 
  • Support external Enterprise BI processes that utilize Worker Data. 
  1. User Support & Troubleshooting: 
  • Troubleshoot functional problems and escalate technical issues as needed. 
  • Document system configurations, customizations, known issues, and troubleshooting procedures for internal knowledge sharing. 
  • Provide guidance and support to HR, Payroll, and end-users regarding system navigation, data entry standards, reporting tools, and security awareness. 
  • Support maintenance and enhancements with other Enterprise Systems that utilize Worker Data. 
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new system users and administrators; develop and update training materials as needed. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for user enablement and self-service enhancements.
