Our Groundskeeper, under general supervision, performs basic lawn care, snow removal, and general grounds maintenance for Memorial Health. This role assists in following procedures, carrying out instructions, and completing individual work assignments to support the upkeep and appearance of the facility grounds.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Valid Illinois driver’s license required.
Must meet acceptable driving standards in accordance with the Memorial Health System Fleet Safety Policy.
A five-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) will be required.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in grounds and lawn maintenance preferred.
Responsible for the general care and maintenance of the hospital grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, raking, watering, fertilizing, edging, planting grass and flowers, trimming, de-thatching, and leaf removal.
Conduct seasonal tasks such as snow removal using snow plows, shovels, squeegees, snow blowers, or other approved methods.
Maintain the external appearance of Memorial Health System by cleaning driveways, parking lots, entrances, and disposing of exterior trash.
Perform parking lot striping and paint as required.
Transport materials and equipment by hand, dolly, or truck to designated work sites.
Interact with hospital staff, patients, and visitors in a courteous and respectful manner.
Perform pre-startup inspections and basic maintenance of grounds equipment and tools.
Adhere to dress code standards to maintain a professional appearance and represent Memorial Health System positively.
Follow all safety procedures and policies consistently while completing work assignments.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
