The Legal Coordinator works with the General Counsel to ensure MHS is in good standing of all corporate
requirements and maintains corporate governance. The Coordinator plays an integral role in the legal activities of
the organization, including but not limited to coordination of legal projects, maintenance of the health system
corporation documents and compliance with federal, state and local corporate laws and regulations. In addition,
the Coordinator provides support to the Vice President of Business Development to help ensure effective
management of the physician contracts, including accurate timekeeping and payment processes for all independent
contracted physicians or physician groups.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. MBA preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
· Paralegal Studies certificate preferred.
Experience:
· Five (5) to seven (7) years demonstrated experience working with legal documents and filings required in non-
profit organizations and ability to work with Secretary of State’s office and other regulatory bodies at both the
federal and state level.

1. Develops and maintains productive relationships with medical staff members, employees and management of MHS, which allows for accomplishing the desired goals and objectives of MHS.
2. Assists General Counsel in working with outside legal counsel, coordinating activities and monitoring legal cases, issues and bills.
3. Prepares reports and comparisons of external legal fees, and assists the General Counsel with the preparation of the annual legal budget.
4. Reviews and drafts response to trademarks and other intellectual property requests, for approval by the General Counsel of her designee.
5. Oversees, coordinates, and tracks due diligence and other legal and compliance project activities with internal and external parties.
6. Reviews and maintains all legal documents related to MHS real estate, including deeds and leases.
7. Assists in the preparation, editing, proofreading and coordination of legal documents as requested by the General Counsel.
8. Maintains orderly legal files.
9. Maintains database of educational opportunities either provided or attended.
10. Receives, tracks, and processes for payment, all timesheets for Medical Directors, Medical Executive Committee, Chairmen, and other advisory contractual relationships between MMC and contracted physicians.
11. Works with the Finance Department to set monthly accruals for Medical Directors, Medical Executive Committee, Chairmen, and other advisory contractual relationships between MMC and contracted physicians.
12. Works with the Business Development Department and various Service Line Administrators to provide necessary information to budget for Medical Director, Medical Executive Committee, Chairmen, and other advisory contractual relationships between MMC and contracted physicians.
13. Maintains current knowledge of relevant administrative policies, department policies, government regulations and other relevant guidelines that are applicable to the role.
14. Completes all other projects and duties assigned by the General Counsel not described in this document.
