Overview

The Software Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes within the IT department. This role ensures that software applications and IT services meet established quality standards through rigorous testing, analysis, and coordination with development teams. The QA Coordinator aims to enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.  They demonstrate good test script development, testing cycle planning, implementation, and tracking in order to help deliver complex projects within an integrated patient-care delivery network.  The QA Coordinator will work closely with all project team members, both within and outside IS department to create a customer-service focus, assuring reliable testing results for application implementations, against stated scope and project plans.  Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.  Provides regular status updates to project management.

 

**This role will have onsite responsibility in Springfield Illinois**

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Computer Science, Project Management, Organization Development or related field required.  In lieu of degree, three years’ related experience will be considered.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • Certified Quality Process Analyst (CQPA) required or completed within one year of hire.
  • Course completion for Change Management philosophy required or completed within one year of hire.
  • Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience occurring in business domain or industry required. May include development/planning and coordination of testing of various computer applications in clinical operations, business, Information Systems, or other related field.
  • Prior experience with automated testing systems strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint Visio, Outlook and Microsoft Project preferred
  • Experience in analyst, documentation or implementation role preferred
  • Experience with software design, analysis or process improvement preferred

  • Healthcare application implementation experience preferred.
  • Understanding of computer systems including hardware, operating systems, programming languages, and data communications preferred.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement QA processes, procedures, and best practices.

 

  1. Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, and test scenarios.

 

  1. Coordinate project testing teams activities in testing of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.

 

  1. Documents testing issues/problems.

 

  1. Works to resolve all complex issues/problems, in cooperation with Project Managers.

 

  1. Reports progress on problem/issue resolution to Project Management and/or Information Systems leadership.

 

  1. Works to devise process improvements to current procedures; develops models of possible future configurations as required.

 

  1. Responsible for assembling project testing team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of testing cycles.

 

  1. Coordinates Domain Management and Change Control discussions with Information Systems leaders and colleagues, documenting needs and decisions.

 

  1. Must be familiar with the overall project scope and objectives as well as the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate activities within the team.

 

  1. Performs complex workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.

 

  1. Develops and reports on select pertinent testing metrics as required and specific to each project. Creates dashboards and executive level communication for testing and quality performance.

 

  1. May be responsible for review, recommendation, selection, and management of automated testing system.

 

  1. Work independently with minimal supervision.

 

  1. Meet all deadlines.

 

  1. Ensure fulfillment of mission and progress towards vision. Exhibit behaviors consistent with MHS values, and ensure strategic plan is cascaded throughout the organization to achieve desired business outcomes.

 

  1. Identifies opportunities for improvement to existing testing methods.  As necessary, collaborates with Quality and/or Decision Sciences colleagues to enhance testing outcomes.

  1. Manages large amounts of sensitive, confidential information concerning personnel, financial, strategic, and business information contained in testing scenarios and outcomes.

 

  1. Develops productive relationships in order to build trust and foster collaboration and communication with various project teams, MH leaders and colleagues to aid MH goal and objective accomplishment.

 

  1. Maintains professional growth and development through continuing education, seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.

 

  1. Perform other related work as required or requested.
