Under general supervision, provides basic lawn care, snow removal and grounds maintenance for the Memorial Health System.  Assists with procedures, instructions and completing individual assignments. Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

• Valid Illinois driver’s license is required and the incumbent must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy.  Five year MVR will be required

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in grounds and lawn maintenance preferred.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of basic operation of lawn and snow removal equipment.

2. Provide care of grounds which includes: mowing, snow removal, raking leaves, watering, fertilizing, edging, planting of grass and flowers, trimming, de-thatching lawn, painting as required and parking lot stripping. 

3. Maintains external appearance of Memorial Health System by cleaning driveways, parking areas, entrances and disposing of trash. 

4. Remove snow by snow plow, shovel, squeegee, snow blower or other approved methods. 

5. Transport materials/equipment by hand, dolly or truck to work site. 

6. Interact with hospital colleagues and patients/visitors in a courteous and cooperative manner. 

7. Perform pre start-up inspection of power equipment and minor repairs of grounds equipment and tools. 

8. Maintains appropriate dress and appearance, projecting a positive image of Memorial Health System. 

9. Consistently follows all safety procedures/policies in completing work assignments. 

10. Performs other related work as required or requested.
