Operates within Memorial Health Systems mission, vision, goals and objectives. Pulmonary Supervisor is directly responsible for the safe and efficient flow of Pulmonary Services throughout the hospital. Pulmonary Supervisor role includes balancing both leadership and management responsibilities: staffing, establishing goals and objectives for the unit, formulating standards of care in line with evidence-based practice, managing budgets, and quality improvement activities. Responsible for hiring, coordinating orientation and evaluating staff on an on-going basis. Demonstrates excellent clinical skills and acts as a resource to the staff in all areas of pulmonary care. Collaborates with ancillary departments for timely care to Pulmonary patients and throughput of department operations. Education:
Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Illinois.
ACLS, PALS, NRP
Experience:
Two (2) years’ direct care experience in hospital care.
Prefer experience as RT Charge resource
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal communication skills is required.
Ability to work across multiple sites of care required.
