Under the general supervision of the laboratory manager, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and department. Additionally provides patient access and clerical assistance necessary to maintain the efficient productive operation of the laboratory. Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), EMT-B, or one year of phlebotomy experience preferred, preferably in a hospital setting.
Experience:
Experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital setting preferred.
